[Introduction]

Featured conversations in public Viva Engage communities now include the option to promote the message to all network members or only to community members. Featured conversations in private communities remain scoped to members only.

[When this will happen]

  • General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in late April 2026, and we expect to complete rolling out by early May 2026.

[How this affects your organization]

Who is affected

  • This change will apply to Microsoft 365 tenants using Viva Engage.
  • This change will affect users who feature conversations in public Viva Engage communities.
  • This change will not affect featured conversations in private communities.

What will happen

  • When a conversation is featured in a public community, authors will be able to choose whether it is promoted to all network members or only to community members.
  • Featured conversations in private communities will continue to be visible only to members.
  • Featured conversations will continue to appear at the top of the Viva Engage home feed and in Viva Engage email digests.
  • The feature will be enabled by default.
  • Existing permissions and moderation rules will continue to apply.

  • Update internal documentation or training materials for community managers
