Microsoft Teams live chat is being retired. Starting in August 2026, new customers will no longer be able to set up Microsoft Teams live chat. Starting in October 2026, Microsoft Teams live chat will no longer be supported and will stop relaying customer chat messages from websites to Teams.

This retirement allows us to focus investments on newer customer engagement and communication experiences.
