Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac: Improved slide contextual menu consistency
Message ID: MC1492164

[What and why]

We are updating the contextual menu for slides in Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac to make it more complete and consistent. Common slide actions will be available directly where users are working and organized in a more predictable order, helping users find frequent tasks faster.

This update introduces several changes:

  • Due to low usage, the Zoom… command will be removed from the contextual menus.
  • To reduce duplication between contextual menus, the Cut and Copy commands will be removed from the slide contextual menu but remain available on the slide thumbnail contextual menu and the ribbon, and by using the ⌘X and ⌘C key combinations.
  • The Layout and Reset Slide commands will be available on both the slide contextual menu and the slide thumbnail contextual menu.
  • All other commands are unaffected but may appear in a different position within the contextual menus.

This update will be enabled by default for all users and ships via standard staged rollout. There are no new SKU, licensing, tenant, geography, or admin controls, and files, data, security, and compliance are not affected by this update.
