Starting on April 7, 2025, Copilot Studio customers using Prompts will be charged based on messages, with specific charges reflecting the capability of the AI tools used as actions.
How does this affect me?
Prompts called directly in Topic and Actions will incur a consumption charge as it will now consume messages depending on the capability of the AI tools used. These charges for the use of Prompts will apply in addition to the existing Copilot Studio consumption rates. Prompts called through flows will continue to be charged as-is.
Users will be able to track and monitor the additional message consumption corresponding to new features in Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC):
- Text & Gen AI tools (Basic)
- Text & Gen AI tools (Standard)
- Text & Gen AI tools (Premium) – in preview
What do I need to do to prepare? / What action do I need to take?
There is no direct action needed at this time to prepare for the release of this update. You will find the exact rate of your consumption in this documentation: Message scenarios. Customers will be able to continue to manage access preview models inside Power Platform Admin Center.
