In July 2024, we released the New Analysis Engine for Power Apps canvas apps. This new engine decreases app load times and improves performance when authoring an app. All apps still using the old analysis engine will be migrated to the New Analysis Engine starting February 2025.
How does this affect me?
All canvas apps in your environment that still use the old analysis engine will be automatically migrated in February 2025.
What do I need to do to prepare?
We recommend testing your canvas apps with the New Analysis Engine to ensure they function as expected prior to migration.

This update regarding the New Analysis Engine for Power Apps canvas apps is quite significant for both admins and users alike. With the rollout scheduled for February 2025, it’s essential to understand how these changes will impact our daily operations and app performance.
For admins, the transition means an opportunity to streamline app management and enhance user experience. The new engine promises not only decreased load times but also improved performance during app authoring. This means less time spent waiting and more time creating! However, it’s crucial for admins to prepare by testing their existing canvas apps with the new engine. This proactive approach will help identify any potential issues before the migration, ensuring a smoother transition and less headache down the line.
Users, on the other hand, can look forward to a snappier experience. Faster load times and smoother performance will undoubtedly make using these apps more enjoyable. It’s like upgrading from a bicycle to a sports car—both will get you where you need to go, but one will do it with a lot more flair!
As we gear up for this change, I encourage everyone to share their thoughts and experiences. Have you tested your apps yet? What challenges do you foresee? Let’s get the conversation going! And for more insights on this topic, be sure to check out additional posts at mwpro.co.uk. Your input is valuable, and who knows? You might just help a fellow admin or user navigate this transition a bit easier!
