We are announcing the Managing system views with security role feature preview for Dataverse security in Power Platform. This preview will allow administrators to manage which system views to show on the table form list based on the user’s security role. This preview will be rolled out globally from February 3, 2025, through February 6, 2025.
How does this affect me?
Previously, the list of system views shown on each table form list is fixed for all users who have access to the table. As the list of system views can be long for some of your tables, they might not be applicable to users based on their role. This preview allows administrators to manage which system views to show on their table form list based on the user’s security role assignment.
What do I need to do to prepare?
This message is for awareness and no action is required.
If you would like more information on this preview, please refer to Manage access to public system views.

The recent announcement regarding the “Managing system views with security role” feature for Dataverse in Power Platform is certainly a game-changer for both administrators and users. This update, set to roll out globally from February 3 to February 6, 2025, brings a refreshing approach to how system views are managed, ensuring that users only see what’s relevant to them based on their security roles.
For admins, this means a newfound ability to streamline the user experience. No longer will they have to endure the lengthy lists of system views that could overwhelm users or lead to confusion. Instead, they can curate a tailored view for each role, making it easier for users to find what they need without sifting through unnecessary information. This could save time and enhance productivity, which is always a win in any organization. Plus, who doesn’t love the power to customize?
On the user side, this update is equally impactful. Users will benefit from a more organized and relevant experience, reducing frustration when navigating through system views. Imagine the joy of logging in and seeing only the views that matter to you—it’s like having a personalized playlist instead of a shuffled mix tape.
While no immediate action is required for users, it’s an ideal time to think about how these changes will enhance your daily tasks. As the rollout date approaches, it’s worth considering how your role might evolve with these new capabilities.
In conclusion, this update is poised to make a significant impact, promoting efficiency and clarity for everyone involved. It’s an exciting time to be part of the Power Platform community!
I encourage everyone to share their thoughts and experiences regarding this update in the comments below. Let’s keep the conversation going and see how we can all make the most of these changes. For more insights, be sure to check out additional posts at mwpro.co.uk!
