Microsoft Purview: Audit Search with Microsoft Graph API has rolled back to beta [MC1052169]

Message ID: MC1052169

Microsoft Graph offers a unified API endpoint for accessing data from multiple Microsoft cloud services in a single response. The Audit Search Graph API allows our customers to programmatically access the new async Audit Search experience, which also provides improved reliability and search completeness.

We previously announced the General Availability of Microsoft Purview’s Audit Search Graph API in November 2024, as communicated in MC720778 (Updated) Microsoft Purview: Audit Search with Microsoft Graph API (published February 2024, updated June 2024).

However, after this announcement, we identified issues that cause the API to fail in Graph v1.0. As a result, we have rolled back this release and address these issues before re-publishing the API to Graph v1.0.

We understand the inconvenience this rollback may cause and sincerely apologize for any disruption to your operations. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we are committed to delivering a reliable and efficient API experience.

In the interim, the Audit Search Graph API will continue to be available in Beta and will function as expected. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work diligently to resolve these issues.

You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation.

The recent rollback of Microsoft Purview’s Audit Search Graph API to beta has generated quite a buzz, and rightly so! For admins, this means a temporary halt in the anticipated benefits of the API’s general availability, which was expected to enhance reliability and search completeness. While it’s frustrating to navigate these changes, it also presents an opportunity for admins to reassess their current workflows and ensure their teams are prepared for the eventual rollout.

On the user side, this rollback may initially seem like a setback, but it’s important to remember that the beta version is still available and functioning as expected. Users can continue to leverage the Audit Search capabilities while Microsoft works to iron out the kinks. And let’s face it, who doesn’t love a bit of suspense? It’s like waiting for the next season of your favorite show—there’s always the promise of something better just around the corner!

Overall, the impact of these changes may feel significant, but they also highlight Microsoft’s commitment to delivering a robust product. It’s a reminder that while technology can be unpredictable, the focus remains on quality and user satisfaction.

I encourage everyone to share their thoughts and experiences with this update. Have you encountered any challenges or found new ways to adapt? Let’s keep the conversation going and support one another through these transitions! For more insights, check out additional posts on mwpro.co.uk.
