Coming soon, new agents created from Agent Builder will be created in the new, dedicated environment, Copilot Studio agent builder, to make it easier for admins to manage and track agents. This change will happen automatically, and no action is needed from administrators. The existing management tools in the Microsoft Admin Center (MAC) will continue to function as they always have.
Initially, we planned to add Custom REST APIs to Agent Builder agents. However, based on early feedback, we have decided not to introduce REST APIs in Agent Builder. For makers who need to build agents with actions, we recommend using Microsoft Copilot Studio (MCS) instead.
How does this affect me?
Admins will be able to track Agent Builder agents in the new, dedicated environment named Copilot Studio agent builder, but nothing new is required from you.
What do I need to do to prepare?
No action is needed. This change will happen automatically.

This update heralds a new era for both admins and users, as it introduces the Copilot Studio agent builder environment. For admins, the transition to a dedicated space for managing Agent Builder agents simplifies oversight and enhances tracking capabilities. It’s like moving from a cluttered desk to a well-organized office—everything is easier to find and manage! The good news is that no additional action is required from you, making this change seamless. You can continue using the existing management tools in the Microsoft Admin Center without missing a beat.
For users, the removal of the Custom REST APIs from Agent Builder might initially sound like a setback. However, the recommendation to utilize Microsoft Copilot Studio instead opens up new possibilities for creating agents with actions. It’s a bit like being told your favorite dish is off the menu, but the chef has a delicious new special that’s even better!
Overall, the impact of these changes is expected to be quite positive. Admins will appreciate the streamlined management process, while users will benefit from enhanced capabilities in the Copilot Studio. These updates are designed to make life easier for everyone involved, and we encourage our readers to share their thoughts and experiences in the comments below.
