Updated July 29, 2025: We have updated the timeline. Thank you for your patience.
We’re introducing a new personalization feature in Microsoft Teams that allows users to select from a set of accent colors. This update enhances the user experience by enabling visual customization of the Teams interface and will be available on Desktop, Mac, and Web platforms.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 497139.
[When this will happen:]
General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in early September 2025 and expect to complete by late September 2025.
[How this will affect your organization:]
Users will be able to personalize their Teams experience by choosing an accent color for the Teams shell. This change is purely cosmetic and does not impact functionality or performance. The feature will be on by default and available to all users once the rollout is complete.

[What you need to do to prepare:]
No admin action is required. However, you may wish to inform your users about this new personalization option.
