[What and Why:]
We’re retiring the current Sora video generation experience (Sora 2) available through the Frontier program as part of our ongoing investment in next-generation video capabilities. This transition enables improved scalability, performance, and future innovation in Copilot-powered video creation. A new video experience is in development and will be communicated when available.

Retirement begins mid-June 2026 and completes by late June 2026.

Who is affected: Organizations participating in the Frontier program with access to the Sora video generation experience
Platforms/Services: Frontier program (Sora video experience in Copilot Create)
What will happen:
- The current Sora experience in Frontier will be retired
- Users will no longer be able to access or generate new videos using Sora after retirement completion
- Previously generated videos will remain accessible to users
- No new activations or deployments of Sora in Frontier will be supported
- This change impacts only the Frontier program and does not affect other Microsoft 365 services
