[What and Why:]

To address an infrastructure-related reliability issue, we are temporarily disabling group membership management actions from the Group card when it is accessed from SharePoint Online. This ensures users do not initiate membership changes that may fail to complete.

This change is part of our ongoing commitment to provide a more reliable and predictable experience across Microsoft 365 group management.

[Rollout Schedule:]

General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, DoD): Beginning late June 2026 and expected to complete by late June 2026
Restoration of functionality: We expect to restore the affected Group card membership actions by September 30, 2026

Who is affected: Users who manage Microsoft 365 group membership from the Group card in SharePoint Online sites.
