Assessment Reasoning
The announcement introduces end of support for OneDrive sync app updates on Windows 10 21H2 and earlier starting August 15, 2026, just under a month away. Admins must identify affected devices, plan upgrades to Windows 11 or at least 22H2, and communicate with end users and support staff. User impact will be noticeable if no action is taken, as future sync reliability is not guaranteed and functionality may degrade, though web access remains available. Urgency is high due to the imminent cut-off and necessary OS upgrades, which require planning and coordination.
