[What and why]
We are updating the SharePoint FAQ web part authoring experience. The FAQ web part will provide a standard, non-AI experience for manually creating, editing, and managing FAQ content. AI-assisted FAQ creation and import capabilities will move to the Copilot in SharePoint authoring experience, where authors can use natural language prompts and selected grounding sources to generate FAQ content that is saved to the compatible FAQ web part. Existing FAQ web parts and their content will continue to render; no content migration is necessary.

- General Availability (Worldwide and GCC): Rollout begins in late October 2026 and is expected to complete in early November 2026.

- Authors will be able to use natural language prompts and selected grounding sources in Copilot in SharePoint to generate FAQ content.
- Generated FAQ content will be saved to the compatible FAQ web part.
- Existing FAQ web parts and their content will continue to render as they do currently; no content migration is required.
