We are introducing attendee proximity join for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows and Android, enabling users to quickly and effortlessly connect to a nearby room system when joining Microsoft Teams events, including town halls, webinars, and structured meetings. This enhancement simplifies the meeting join experience and helps users connect to the appropriate room device with fewer steps.

[Rollout Schedule:]

  • Targeted Release: Rollout will begin in early November 2026 (previously early October) and is expected to complete by mid-November 2026 (previously late October). 
  • General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High): Rollout will begin in mid-November 2026 (previously late October) and is expected to complete by early December 2026 (previously mid-November).
