Assessment Reasoning
The announcement confirms that the All Accounts view in the new Outlook for Windows is still rolling out with completion now expected by late November 2026 and that new admin policies are available. Admin effort increases as policy configuration via the Microsoft 365 Apps admin centre is now possible, allowing organisations to manage or restrict the unified inbox view. The feature is user-facing but non-disruptive, though training or communication may be needed for multi-account users.

📢 Official Microsoft Message Center Announcement

(Updated) New Outlook for Windows: All Accounts view brings email into a single inbox view
Message ID: MC1519843 (Updated)

Updated November 6, 2026: Admin controls for All Accounts view (Unified Inbox) are now available. We have added policy configuration guidance below. Thank you for your patience.

[What and Why:]

The All Accounts view, also known as Unified Inbox, lets users see email from multiple connected accounts in a single inbox view in the new Outlook for Windows without merging their mailboxes. Each account’s inbox stays separate, and All Accounts view brings messages together so users can triage mail from one place.

Users can read, delete, search, move, archive, and mark messages across accounts without switching between mailboxes. The experience integrates with Copilot for AI-assisted email workflows and supports Search with Copilot for finding messages across the user’s primary account.

[Rollout Schedule:]

General Availability (Worldwide): We began rolling out in late September 2026 and expect to complete by late November 2026 (previously late October).

[Impact on Your Organization:]

Users with more than one connected account in the new Outlook for Windows will be able to triage email across accounts from a single All Accounts view. This does not merge mailboxes or move messages between accounts. Each account remains separate, and All Accounts view provides a unified view only.

All Accounts view is enabled by default for eligible users. Users can change this setting unless their organization enforces a configuration through the admin policy described below.

[Action Required/Recommendations:]

No admin action is required unless you want to manage this experience for your users.

The policy “Show All Accounts view for users with multiple accounts in Outlook for Windows” is now available through the Microsoft 365 Apps admin center at config.office.com. Admins can configure whether All Accounts view is enabled or disabled by default and whether users can change that setting. The policy can be applied to selected groups.

If the policy is not configured, All Accounts view remains enabled by default, and users can turn it off or back on. Admins who want to disable it and prevent users from enabling it must set “Configure the unified inbox view” to Disabled and “Allow user to override this setting” to Disabled.

To configure the policy:

  1. Go to config.office.com and open Customization > Policy Management.
  2. Create or edit a policy configuration and scope it to the group you want to manage.
  3. Find “Show All Accounts view for users with multiple accounts in Outlook for Windows” and set Configuration setting to Enabled.
  4. Under “Configure the unified inbox view,” select Enabled to show All Accounts view by default, or Disabled to keep account inboxes separate by default.
  5. Under “Allow user to override this setting,” select Enabled to let users change the configured behavior, or Disabled to prevent changes.
  6. Review and publish the policy configuration.

[Compliance considerations:]

This feature provides a unified view across connected accounts in the new Outlook for Windows but does not merge mailboxes or move messages between accounts. Review your organization’s Outlook account and automated-assistance policies as appropriate.
