We are announcing the ability to automate administrator-level desktop applications in unattended runs in Microsoft Power Automate. This feature will reach general availability on May 18, 2026.
How does this affect me?
This feature enables support for automating desktop applications that require administrator rights when running desktop flows in unattended mode.
By configuring a registry setting, you can extend unattended automation to interact with applications that require elevated permissions. This removes a previous limitation and allows more end-to-end automation scenarios to run without user involvement. This capability helps you automate processes that involve privileged applications, improving automation completeness, and reducing the need for manual steps.
What action do I need to take?
This message is for awareness, and no action is required.
