We are announcing the ability to debug desktop flows using step over and step out in Power Automate. This feature will reach general availability on September 10, 2025.
How does this affect me?
Users can enable this feature from the Tools menu while in the designer within Power Automate for desktop. Once enabled, new buttons for the following functionality will appear in the debugger toolbar.
- Step over: This allows users to skip sub-flows without entering them so they can focus on the main logic of the flow.
- Step out: This allows users to quickly exit a sub-flow and return to the parent flow when reviewing nested logic or skipping known sections.
What action do I need to take?
This message is for awareness and no action is required.
If you would like more information on this feature, please visit the Debug desktop flows using step over and step out learn article.
