[Introduction:]
Early October, Microsoft announced the transition from AI Builder service credits to Copilot Credits. Based on feedback we’ve received, we are making a modification to the use of seeded credits and are providing more details on the end of renewal of Capacity Add-ons.
[When this will happen:]
Rollout begins on November 1, 2025.
- November 1, 2025: End of sale for AI Builder service credits add-ons
- November 1, 2026: End of AI Builder service credits included in eligible SKUs (seeded credits) for all customers
- November 1, 2026: End of life for AI Builder service credits add-ons (end of renewal and additional purchase for existing customers)
[How this affects your organization:]
Who is affected: Admins managing Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dynamics 365 Finance environments that currently include or purchase AI Builder service credits.
What will happen:
Licensing and credit transition
- As announced in Message MC1163767, AI Builder service credits will no longer be available for purchase in add-ons after November 2025. Instead, customers can use Copilot Credits to run AI Builder features.
- Licenses with seeded AI Builder capacity will continue to provide seeded capacity up to November 1, 2026. Seeded capacity won’t be based on a snapshot but will be based on actual number of owner licenses. From November 1, 2026, all seeded credits will be totally removed for both active and new subscriptions.
- AI Builder service credits add-ons will be discontinued (End of Sale) on November 1, 2025. Renewal and additional purchase for existing customers will still be possible up to November 1, 2026 (End of Life).
- AI Builder service credits purchased in AI Builder service credits add-ons can continue to be used as long as their subscriptions are active.
[What you can do to prepare:]
- Review your current AI Builder service credit usage in the Power Platform admin center and plan for progressive transition to Copilot Credits.
- Communicate this change to your internal stakeholders and helpdesk teams.
