Assessment Reasoning
The update introduces admin-centre–based control for Power Platform connectors in Copilot Cowork, allowing granular governance of third-party app integrations. Admins must review and configure connector access in the Microsoft 365 admin centre, as DLP policies from the Power Platform do not apply. User visibility is limited to connection enablement or restriction, but governance, compliance, and configuration review make this a moderate operational effort. The rollout is in progress with completion due mid-November 2026.

[What and Why:]

Microsoft Copilot Cowork now supports Power Platform connectors published as plugins, with connector availability managed through the Microsoft 365 admin center. This enables organizations to extend Cowork to third-party applications and services while giving administrators centralized control over which supported connectors can be used. Cowork respects these settings when creating connections and executing actions, helping organizations extend AI-powered business processes with enterprise-level manageability.

[Rollout Schedule:]

General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout will complete by mid-November 2026.

[Impact on Your Organization:]

Who is affected:

Organizations using Microsoft Copilot Cowork that want to use Power Platform connectors to connect Cowork with third-party applications and services.

Platforms/Services:

Microsoft Copilot Cowork, Power Platform connectors, and the Microsoft 365 admin center.

What will happen:

  • Administrators can allow or block supported Power Platform connectors through the Microsoft 365 admin center.
  • Cowork respects these settings when creating connections and executing actions, including connections established before a connector was blocked.
  • Connector policies also apply to Cowork Automations.
  • Additional Power Platform connectors are being added to the Microsoft 365 admin center. Connectors become available in Cowork as they are added.
  • Existing Microsoft 365 capabilities for email, calendar, Teams, and files are unaffected.
  • Power Platform admin center Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies do not apply to Cowork.

[Action Required/Recommendations:]

We recommend that administrators:

  • Review available connectors in the Microsoft 365 admin center under Agents > Tools.
  • Configure connector availability based on your organization’s requirements.
  • Review your organization’s governance requirements before enabling Power Platform connectors for Cowork, noting that Power Platform admin center DLP policies do not apply to Cowork.
