Before this rollout, the use of third-party providers as part of the Microsoft SharePoint eSignature pay-as-you-go platform is limited to regions supported by the native Microsoft SharePoint eSignature.
With this rollout, customers across the globe will be able to use third-party providers, wherever they are supported. Users will no longer be required to enable native SharePoint eSignature as a prerequisite for enabling either Docusign or Adobe Acrobat Sign. Pay-as-you-go must be set up to enable SharePoint eSignature, but Microsoft will not charge customers for using third-party providers.

[When this will happen:]
General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out early November 2024 and expect to complete by mid-November 2024.
[How this will affect your organization:]
After this rollout, admins can enable a third-party provider without enabling native SharePoint eSignature, and vice versa.
Microsoft 365 users who have licenses with Adobe Acrobat Sign or Docusign will be able to initiate eSignature requests with these providers from SharePoint.
[What you need to do to prepare:]
Admins need to enable the feature in the Microsoft admin center at Setup > Automate content with Syntex> Go to Syntex > eSignature

Microsoft SharePoint is about to get a whole lot more versatile with the global rollout of eSignature integrations for Adobe Acrobat Sign and Docusign. This update is set to make waves in the admin and user communities alike, and here’s why.
Before this update, the use of third-party eSignature providers within Microsoft SharePoint was limited to regions supported by the native Microsoft SharePoint eSignature. It was like trying to enjoy a global buffet with only a local menu. But now, with this rollout, customers worldwide can use third-party providers wherever they are supported. It’s like getting an all-access pass to the eSignature smorgasbord!
Admins, rejoice! You will no longer need to enable the native SharePoint eSignature as a prerequisite for enabling either Docusign or Adobe Acrobat Sign. This means more flexibility and fewer hoops to jump through. It’s like being able to skip the line at your favorite coffee shop because you have the VIP pass. Just set up the pay-as-you-go option to enable SharePoint eSignature, and Microsoft won’t charge you for using third-party providers. Your budget will thank you!
For users, this means that if you have licenses with Adobe Acrobat Sign or Docusign, you can initiate eSignature requests directly from SharePoint. Imagine being able to send out important documents for signatures without having to switch platforms. It’s like having your cake and eating it too, but without the crumbs.
So, what do you need to do to prepare? Admins, head over to the Microsoft admin center and navigate to Setup > Automate content with Syntex > Go to Syntex > eSignature. Enable the feature, and you’re good to go. It’s as simple as pie, and just as satisfying.
