We previously announced the release of a feature in Teams via a Message Center post: MC792605 – Microsoft Teams: Auto-create Microsoft Loop workspaces to share meeting content. We shared that Teams meeting organizers of recurring meetings will be prompted in chat to create a Loop workspace after their meeting is completed. The feature helps users gather shared meeting content into a Loop workspace.
In response to your feedback, we are improving the ability for you to control this feature through Microsoft 365 Cloud Policy.
[When this will happen:]
Available now.
[How this affects your organization:]
We are now responding to feedback from you, and the button to create a Loop workspace from Teams meeting chat will not be visible if the Loop workspace creation is disabled on your tenant. This is done by setting the Microsoft 365 Cloud Policy "Create and view Loop workspaces in Loop" to "disabled".
[What you need to do to prepare:]
Review your current configuration and make changes as appropriate for your organization.

This update regarding the respect for Cloud Policy settings in the Auto-create Loop workspaces feature for Teams meetings is a significant step forward for both admins and users. For admins, the ability to control whether Loop workspaces can be created or viewed adds a layer of governance that can help streamline workflows and maintain organizational standards. It’s like being given a remote control for a television—you can finally choose what channels (or features) your users have access to!
On the user side, this change means that if an organization decides to disable Loop workspace creation, users won’t be distracted by unnecessary prompts in their Teams chat. This can lead to a more focused and efficient meeting experience. After all, who needs more buttons to click when you’re just trying to get through a meeting without losing your sanity?
The impact of these changes is likely to be quite profound. By giving both admins and users more control over their Teams experience, Microsoft is fostering an environment that respects the unique needs of different organizations. It’s a win-win situation!
I encourage everyone to share their thoughts on this update. How do you think it will change your daily interactions in Teams? Let’s get the conversation rolling! For more insights, feel free to check out additional posts at mwpro.co.uk.
