We are announcing the general availability of solution-aware cloud flow sharing limits to the Power Platform. You can now start to control how you want your makers to share their solution-aware cloud flows. Customers should have access to this control for their managed environments by December 13, 2024.
How does this affect me?
- The control enables administrators to either enable or disable sharing.
- When sharing is disabled, this means that makers cannot share their flows with any individual or security group.
- The access of individuals or security groups that were shared with before sharing was disabled will not be affected.
- When sharing is enabled, this means that makers are free to share their flows with as many individuals or security groups as they want.
- This control specifically applies to solution-aware cloud flows.
You can configure this control through the settings of your managed environment. This control can be configured on an individual managed environment and also as a rule that can be applied to an entire environment group.
What do I need to do to prepare?
This message is for awareness and no action is required.

The recent announcement regarding the general availability of solution-aware cloud flow sharing limits in the Power Platform is set to make waves among both admins and users. This update offers a new layer of control that can significantly impact how makers share their creations, and it’s worth exploring just how transformative these changes may be.
For administrators, this feature is akin to being handed the keys to a control room. With the ability to enable or disable sharing, admins can now tailor the sharing capabilities according to the needs of their organization. This is a game-changer for those looking to maintain tighter security protocols. Imagine being able to monitor who has access to what flows and making adjustments on the fly! However, with great power comes great responsibility—admins will need to balance control with collaboration to foster an innovative environment.
On the user side, makers will feel both the thrill and the pinch of these new sharing limits. When sharing is enabled, it opens the floodgates for creativity, allowing users to collaborate freely and share their flows with anyone and everyone. However, when sharing is disabled, it can feel like a sudden halt to collaboration, leaving some makers feeling like they’ve hit a brick wall. The key takeaway here is that while the control can enhance security, it also requires users to adapt to a more structured sharing environment.
In terms of impact, this update appears to strike a balance between security and collaboration. The ability to configure sharing on both individual and group levels provides flexibility, ensuring that the right people have access to the right flows. The rollout by December 2024 gives organizations ample time to strategize and implement these changes effectively.
So, what do you think about these new sharing limits? Will they help streamline your workflows, or do you foresee challenges in collaboration? Join the conversation and share your thoughts!
