We have added a new source feed option in the Viva Engage conversations web part, which is called the "leaders" feed.
As a result of this change, your site admins will be able to add the following Microsoft Viva Engage feeds to their Microsoft SharePoint site via the conversations web part:
- Community feed
- User feed
- Topic feed
- Home feed
- (New) leaders feed.
If a site admin chooses to add the "leaders" feed to their SharePoint site, the content the user sees will be dependent on their license status.
- Users with either a Viva suite or Viva Employee Communications and Communities license will see content from their leadership corner feed.
- Users without a Viva suite or Viva Employee Communications and Communities license will see content from their home feed.
[When this will happen:]
General Availability (Worldwide): This feature has completed rollout.
This update is available by default.
[How this will affect your organization:]

The recent update introducing the “leaders” feed in the Microsoft Viva Engage conversations web part is set to create quite a splash for both admins and users alike. For site admins, this addition not only enhances their toolkit but also provides them with a new way to engage users by showcasing leadership content directly on their SharePoint sites. Imagine the possibilities of having a direct line to leadership insights right where users are already collaborating!
Admins will now have the flexibility to choose from five different feed options—community, user, topic, home, and the shiny new leaders feed. This means they can tailor the content experience more closely to their organization’s needs, which is a win for everyone. Plus, the fact that this update rolls out automatically means less hassle for admins. No more late-night coding sessions or frantic troubleshooting—just a simple enhancement to make their lives a little easier.
For users, the impact is equally significant. Those with a Viva suite or Viva Employee Communications and Communities license will gain access to the leadership corner feed, bringing them closer to the strategic vision and updates from their leaders. This can foster a greater sense of connection and alignment within the organization. On the flip side, users without these licenses will still have access to their home feed, ensuring that everyone remains connected, albeit in slightly different ways.
As for the overall impact, it seems clear that this update will encourage more engagement and communication within teams. After all, who wouldn’t want to be in the loop on what the leadership team is discussing? And if you’re like me and enjoy a good dose of workplace humor, you might appreciate the irony that the “leaders” feed is, in essence, a way for leadership to remind us all who’s really in charge—while simultaneously making us feel more included!
So, what are your thoughts on this update? Do you think it will enhance the user experience or just add another layer to navigate? I’d love to hear your perspectives, so feel free to jump into the comments! And for more insights on Microsoft updates, don’t forget to check out other posts on mwpro.co.uk.
