We are introducing a new change to the Power Platform admin center that will extend access for environment admins (system administrators) to access the security page and manage the security and compliance of their environments. Previously, access to this page was limited to tenant admins.
This rollout will begin in the first week of February 2025 across all public cloud geographic regions.
How does this affect me?
Environment admins will be able to manage security and compliance features for owned environments by navigating to the manage security settings page:
- Navigate to the Power Platform admin center and sign in.
- Go to the Security section.
- Navigate to settings and manage security settings for owned environments.
What do I need to do to prepare?
This message is for awareness and no action is required.

The upcoming changes to the Power Platform admin center are set to make waves, and in a good way! With the new rollout starting in February 2025, environment admins will finally gain access to the security page, which was previously the exclusive domain of tenant admins. This is a significant shift that will empower environment admins to manage security and compliance settings more effectively.
For admins, this change is like being handed the keys to a shiny new car. No longer will they be sidelined when it comes to managing security for their environments. Instead, they can take the wheel and navigate directly to the security settings, ensuring that their environments are as secure as a vault! This increased access means quicker response times to potential issues and a more streamlined approach to managing security protocols.
For users, the impact will be felt as well. With environment admins now able to manage security settings directly, users can expect a more responsive and tailored approach to their security needs. Imagine a world where your concerns are addressed promptly and efficiently—sounds like a dream, right? This change is bound to enhance the overall user experience, leading to a more secure and compliant environment.
In terms of how impactful these changes will be, it’s safe to say they will be significant. The empowerment of environment admins not only boosts their capabilities but also fosters a culture of accountability and proactivity in managing security. As the saying goes, “With great power comes great responsibility,” and it seems that environment admins are ready to rise to the occasion!
