The upcoming update to Microsoft Viva Engage, particularly the revamped “Community information” experience, is set to bring significant enhancements for both community admins and users. With a new, streamlined text editor and a character limit of 32,000 (aligned with article limits), admins will find it easier to create and manage community content. This is a welcomed change that promises to simplify the process, allowing for more time spent engaging with community members rather than wrestling with formatting issues.
For users, the impact is equally promising. The improved community information section means clearer, more concise content that can enhance their overall experience. Imagine scrolling through well-organized information that’s easy to digest—it’s like upgrading from a flip phone to the latest smartphone. Who wouldn’t want that?
The rollout is set to begin in late March 2025, with completion expected by mid-April. Fortunately, this will happen automatically, so admins can sit back and relax (perhaps with a cup of coffee) while the changes take effect. However, it’s still a good idea to notify users and review any relevant documentation to ensure everyone is on the same page.
In terms of impact, this update appears to be a game-changer for community engagement. A more user-friendly interface not only boosts productivity for admins but also fosters a more vibrant community atmosphere. So, will this be a transformative leap or just a small step? Only time will tell, but early indicators suggest a positive shift.
