The introduction of the new Exchange Web Services (EWS) usage report in the Microsoft 365 admin center is set to bring significant changes for both admins and users alike. For admins, this report will provide a much-needed lens into the activities of third-party applications utilizing EWS, offering insights into their actions and call volumes. This is particularly valuable as EWS approaches its eventual deprecation, allowing administrators to manage and transition their applications more effectively.

Imagine being able to see exactly how these applications interact with your system—it’s like having a backstage pass to the inner workings of your organization’s tech landscape! Armed with this knowledge, admins can make informed decisions and strategize for the future, ensuring a smoother transition away from EWS.

For users, while the changes may not seem immediately impactful, the overall improvement in system performance and security is something to look forward to. As third-party applications are better managed, users can expect a more stable and reliable experience, which is always a win in the world of technology!

Now, the rollout is set to begin in late March 2025, with completion expected by early April 2025, and there’s no action required from admins to get this started. Just keep an eye on your current configurations and prepare for the enhanced insights that will soon be at your fingertips.

In conclusion, this update promises to be a game-changer for admins and users alike, paving the way for more informed decision-making and a streamlined experience. I encourage everyone to share their thoughts and experiences with this new feature once it rolls out—let’s keep the conversation going!
