We are announcing the Plan designer, a copilot-first development tool, which enables users to quickly create comprehensive business solutions. The Plan designer generates a complete Power Platform solution tailored to your needs, including Dataverse tables, canvas apps, model-driven apps, and suggested Power Automate flows. This feature was made available for public preview starting on December 15, 2024, and will reach general availability on May 19, 2025.
How does this affect me?
Plan designer will be accessible from the Power Apps home page and will guide you through a multi-step process to generate user roles, user stories, data tables, and user experiences. Additionally, you will be able to view the presence status of plan agents, which are AI assistants that will analyze your business problem and utilize AI to generate a plan for it.
What do I need to do to prepare?

The recent announcement of the Power Platform’s Copilot Plan designer is sure to stir excitement among both admins and users alike! This innovative tool promises to streamline the development process, making it easier than ever to create tailored business solutions without needing a Ph.D. in coding.
For admins, the Plan designer will be a game changer. It allows for a more structured approach to solution creation, ultimately saving time and resources. The ability to generate comprehensive solutions, including Dataverse tables and suggested Power Automate flows, means that admins can focus on higher-level strategy rather than getting bogged down in technical details. Plus, having AI assistants analyze business problems will be like having a trusty sidekick—think Batman and Robin, but with fewer capes and more data!
Users, on the other hand, will benefit from a more intuitive experience. The multi-step process will guide them through creating user roles, stories, and data tables with ease. It’s like having a GPS for app development—no more getting lost in the woods of complex coding!
As for the impact of these changes, I foresee a significant leap in productivity and creativity across teams. With the Plan designer available for public preview in December and general availability by May 2025, it’s the perfect time to start thinking about how to leverage this tool for your business needs.
