Message ID: MC1062455

A new "Resume repository" library template type will be available for SharePoint Online. For tenants with pay-as-you-go-billing services enabled, this template type will include autofill columns to automatically extract name, email, phone, college, and degree. Additionally, there are preconfigure choices and people-based columns to help streamline hiring and interview coordination centered on the resume files.

Additionally, you can use this template as a reference to create your own templates with Autofill columns as Organizational templates.

[When this will happen:]

Targeted Release: We will begin rolling out on late April 2025 and expect to complete by mid-May 2025.

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out on early May 2025 and expect to complete by late May 2025.

[How this will affect your organization:]

The new template will be available for SharePoint users to create and use in their sites. Users who are enrolled in pay-as-you-go billing will be enabled to use the sample prompts in the autofill columns to automatically extract resume details for name, email, phone, college, and degree.
Customers who are not enrolled will be able to use the library columns and can manually enter in metadata.

The introduction of the “Resume repository” library template in SharePoint Online is set to be a game-changer for both admins and users alike. For administrators, this update streamlines the hiring process significantly. With autofill columns that automatically extract crucial information such as names, emails, and educational backgrounds, the admin’s workload is lightened. Imagine the time saved when you no longer have to manually sift through resumes to gather this data!

For users, the benefits are equally impressive. The ease of organizing and accessing resumes can enhance collaboration and efficiency during the hiring process. Plus, the preconfigured choices and people-based columns mean that users can focus more on what really matters—finding the right candidate—rather than getting bogged down in administrative tasks. It’s like having a personal assistant, minus the coffee runs!

Now, let’s talk about the impact. The changes will likely lead to a more organized, efficient, and user-friendly experience. This could mean faster hiring times and a more structured approach to candidate management, which is a win-win for everyone involved. And who wouldn’t want to cut down on the chaos that often accompanies recruitment?

As we look forward to the rollout starting in late April 2025, it’s a good time to prepare your teams and get everyone excited about these new features. After all, who doesn’t love a little tech upgrade to make their job easier?
