Coming soon: The new Microsoft Edge for Business security connector framework feature lets you easily connect the browser to your authentication, data loss prevention, and reporting solutions. With more than a dozen security partners (and more to come), we are helping ensure that Edge for Business offers deep integration with your security solution of choice—at no extra cost.
Disclaimer: Refer to partner licensing requirements for any costs associated with using the connector.
[When this will happen:]
General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late April 2025 and expect to complete by late April 2025.
On April 28, 2025, connectors from Cisco Duo, CrowdStrike, Splunk, and Ping Identity will be generally available. Also, connectors from Symantec DLP, RSA, Omnissa, Devicie, and HYPR will be available in preview, with more coming soon. We will update this message when more connectors are available.
[How this will affect your organization:]
After this rollout, you will be able to deploy, configure, and manage security connectors through the Edge management service.
- With device trust connectors, you can integrate your preferred identity and access management tools with Edge for Business. Verify device trust in real-time to block access from untrusted devices and protect your critical applications accessed through Edge for Business.
- With reporting connectors, you get the total picture of security across your estate, including the browser. Browser-based security events in Edge for Business will report directly to your preferred security solution, providing a single source of truth for security insights.
- With data loss prevention connectors, you can monitor and block sensitive data from being printed, pasted, or uploaded in Edge for Business.
You can configure connectors in the Microsoft 365 admin center at Settings > Microsoft Edge > Connectors:
The new framework will be available by default for admins to configure.
[What you need to do to prepare:]
Connectors will be discoverable in the Edge management service by the specified date with no admin action required before rollout. Admins can configure and manage each connector type depending on each licensing requirement of the partner solution. Note: Microsoft Edge version 135 is required.
Review your current configuration to assess the impact on your organization. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation.
