We are releasing a new feature that enables users to leverage Copilot’s capabilities during live call sessions without retaining transcripts or an audio recording afterward. This ensures that users can benefit from Copilot during sensitive conversations where a persistent record is not desired. This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 482745.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (Worldwide, GCC): We will begin rolling out early June 2025 and expect to complete by late June 2025.

[How this will affect your organization:]

Users who have transcription turned off will be now able to use Copilot.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

Admin settings will be made available as part of the Calling policy to allow admins to configure the setting for their users. More details to follow.

The recent announcement regarding Microsoft 365 Copilot for phone calls is set to bring about some exciting changes for both admins and users. On one hand, users can now leverage Copilot’s capabilities during live calls without the worry of retaining transcripts or audio recordings. This is particularly beneficial for those sensitive conversations where privacy is paramount. Imagine being able to have a candid discussion while knowing that the details won’t be lingering around in a digital archive! It’s like having your cake and eating it too—without the calories!

For admins, this update means a new layer of control. With the ability to configure settings as part of the Calling policy, they can ensure that users have access to these features while maintaining the necessary privacy standards. This proactive approach allows for a tailored experience, ensuring that both user needs and organizational policies align seamlessly.

As for the impact of these changes, it seems quite significant. The ability to utilize Copilot during calls without retaining a record could enhance user experience, promote open dialogue, and ultimately drive productivity. However, it also places a greater responsibility on admins to manage these settings effectively, ensuring that the right balance between functionality and privacy is achieved.

I encourage everyone to share their thoughts on how these updates might affect your daily operations or any ideas you have on maximizing the benefits of Copilot. Let’s get the conversation going! For more insights and discussions, feel free to check out additional posts on https://mwpro.co.uk.
