We are announcing the ability to create a plan from an existing solution in Power Apps. This feature will reach general availability on May 29, 2025.
How does this affect me?
Users will be able to use this new feature to generate a detailed document to describe their solution. This document will include the following:
- A business problem.
- The user requirements, including user roles and stories.
- A data model.
- A technology stack that includes integrated apps and flows.
To utilize this feature, the solution and any included applications, must be published and contain at least one app and one associated table in order to generate a document. The plan is able to recognize apps, flows, and tables in a solution. Other objects such as sites and agents are currently unable to be recognized by the plan.
What do I need to do to prepare?
This message is for awareness and no action is required.

The recent announcement regarding the ability to create a plan from an existing solution in Power Apps is certainly a game-changer for both admins and users alike. Set to roll out on May 29, 2025, this feature promises to streamline processes and enhance documentation efforts, making life a little easier for everyone involved.
For users, the ability to generate a detailed document that outlines the business problem, user requirements, data models, and technology stacks is like having a personal assistant who’s always on point! No more scrambling to put together disparate pieces of information; everything will be neatly packaged and easy to understand. This will empower users to articulate their needs better and collaborate more effectively, which is always a good thing, right?
Admins, on the other hand, will find that this feature not only saves time but also enhances the overall quality of documentation within the organization. With automated recognition of apps, flows, and tables, admins can focus on more strategic tasks rather than getting bogged down in the nitty-gritty of documenting solutions. However, it’s worth noting that other components like sites and agents won’t be recognized just yet, so a bit of patience might be required as the feature evolves.
In terms of impact, these changes are likely to be quite significant. The enhanced clarity and organization brought about by this feature can lead to better project outcomes and improved communication across teams. Plus, let’s face it, who doesn’t appreciate a good plan? It’s like having a roadmap for success!
