Message ID: MC1070855

As with Microsoft Teams Rooms, admins can now access detailed call quality reports for BYOD rooms with associated peripherals in the Pro Management portal. These reports include call history and session details that help diagnose network, audio, and video issues. Reports in the Pro Management portal requires a Teams Shared Devices license for the room.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 486830.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (Worldwide, GCC): We will begin rolling out in early June 2025 and expect to complete in mid-June 2025

[How this will affect your organization:]

This report can be used to understand when call quality is poor in rooms, as well as analyze the cause of that poor quality. Diagnosing issues with call quality can lead to substantive increases in meeting room experience for your users as well as a reduction in tickets and/or complaints about meeting rooms.

[What you need to do to prepare:]

We recommend that you discuss this new capability with your room management teams and plan for how to use the new quality reports to best serve your users and improve their experience in Teams Rooms. This report can be used to understand when call quality is poor in rooms, as well as analyze the cause of that poor quality. We also recommend a regularly scheduled frequent check of room health to ensure your team is on top of any issues before they turn into tickets or complaints from users or executives. You can be both proactive and reactive to room issues in this way.

The recent update regarding Microsoft Teams’ call quality reports for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) rooms in the Pro Management portal is a game-changer for both admins and users. This new feature provides admins with the tools they need to tackle call quality issues head-on, ensuring smoother meetings and happier users.

For admins, having access to detailed call history and session details means they can diagnose network, audio, and video issues more effectively. Imagine being able to pinpoint exactly why that crucial meeting went south—no more guessing games! This can lead to a significant reduction in support tickets and complaints, allowing IT teams to focus on more strategic initiatives rather than troubleshooting. Plus, the requirement of a Teams Shared Devices license for the room ensures that only those serious about maximizing their meeting experience will be reaping the benefits.

As for users, the impact is equally positive. With improved call quality, meetings will become more productive and enjoyable. No one wants to be that person who constantly asks, “Can you hear me now?” With these reports, admins can proactively address issues before they escalate, creating a seamless experience for everyone involved.

So, how impactful will these changes be? Well, the potential for enhanced meeting experiences is substantial. By enabling a proactive approach to room health, organizations can foster a culture of collaboration without the pesky distractions of technical difficulties.

I encourage everyone to share their thoughts on this update! How do you think it will affect your day-to-day meetings? Have you encountered any call quality issues in the past? Let’s get the conversation going! For more insights and discussions, check out other posts on mwpro.co.uk.
