We are announcing a new feature in the Power Platform admin center (PPAC) Security page that allows administrators to dismiss security recommendations that have been addressed through alternative mitigation strategies. This feature began rolling out on May 1, 2025, and is expected to be available to admins in all public regions by May 16, 2025.
How does this affect me?
Admins can dismiss security recommendations by taking the following steps:
- Sign in to the Power Platform admin center.
- In the navigation pane, select Security.
- In the Security pane, select Overview.
- The Overview page appears. Scroll down to the Take action to increase your security score section.
- In the Active tab, select the recommendations that you want to dismiss.
- Select the X icon to dismiss the recommendation.
- The Dismiss window is displayed. Select a reason for dismissing the recommendation from the dropdown list. Then select Dismiss.
Please note, dismissed recommendations always remain accessible and can be reviewed through their history at any time. Previously dismissed recommendations can be easily reactivated to ensure continuous security optimization.
What action do I need to take?
No action is required, security recommendations will continue to be displayed unless they are configured to be dismissed by admins.
For more information, please see Dismiss recommendations.

This new feature in the Power Platform admin center is set to bring a refreshing breeze to both admins and users alike! By enabling administrators to dismiss security recommendations that have already been tackled through alternative strategies, the Power Platform is not just streamlining the admin workflow, but also enhancing overall security management.
For admins, this means less clutter and a sharper focus on actionable recommendations. No longer will they be bogged down by redundant alerts that have already been addressed. Instead, they can prioritize their time and resources on the areas that truly need their attention. It’s like finally getting to clean out that overflowing inbox – what a relief!
On the user side, this update indirectly promotes a more secure environment. By allowing admins to manage their security score more effectively, the whole platform becomes more robust. Users can feel confident that their data is better protected without unnecessary distractions from outdated recommendations.
As for the impact of these changes, I would say it’s quite significant. Dismissing irrelevant recommendations not only improves efficiency but also fosters a culture of proactive security management. In a world where security threats are ever-evolving, having a tool that allows for quick adjustments is invaluable.
So, what do you think about this update? Will it make your admin life easier? Or do you foresee any challenges with the new feature? Let’s open the floor for comments! And for more insights, check out other posts on mwpro.co.uk. Your thoughts could spark a great discussion!
