This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 492984
[When this will happen:]
General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out on mid-July 2025 and expect to complete by mid-July 2025.
[How this will affect your organization:]
This update enables users to:
- Translate developer documentation and technical content written in Markdown
- Support translation of content exported from open-source tools such as LibreOffice
- Localize eLearning and software files using
.xlf
- Translate structured data files such as
.tsv
and.tab
without file conversion
These capabilities reduce manual effort and expand translation coverage to more file types already in use across many organizations.
[What you need to do to prepare:]
No admin action is required. The new format support will be available automatically in environments where Content AI Document Translation is enabled. You may wish to notify relevant teams (e.g., documentation, localization, or compliance teams) that these formats are now supported.
