We are announcing an update to how Dataverse system jobs can be deleted. This update will allow you to comply with your record retention policy and can help to improve overall system performance in Dataverse. This update will be made generally available starting on August 14, 2025, and will be fully available in all regions by September 15, 2025.
How does this affect me?
This update will introduce a new deletion service which will automatically delete completed system jobs. It will also add three sets of default retention periods for deleting system jobs that have succeeded, failed, or been cancelled. These default retention periods can be adjusted to change the minimum retention period for completed system jobs.
What action do I need to take?
Please review your record retention policy and adjust the default retention periods to ensure they meet your retention policy.
If you would like more information on this update, please visit Clean up records from System Job (AsyncOperationBase) and Process Log (WorkflowLogBase) tables.
