Introduction
To streamline and improve integration experiences for education customers, we’re retiring several legacy Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) integrations in Microsoft 365. These tools will be replaced by the unified Microsoft 365 LTI tool, which offers enhanced functionality and ongoing support.
When this will happen:
- The following Education LTI tools will be retired worldwide on September 17, 2026:
- Teams Assignments LTI
- OneDrive LTI
- OneNote Class Notebook LTI
- Reflect LTI
How this affects your organization:
- Who is affected: Education tenants currently using any of the listed LTI integrations.
- What will happen:
- These individual LTI tools will no longer be accessible or functional after the retirement date.
- Users and admins will need to transition to the Microsoft 365 LTI unified tool.
- Admins can identify usage by running reports in their LMS or Microsoft 365 admin center.
What you can do to prepare:
- No admin action is required to remove the legacy tools—they will be retired automatically.
- Notify users about the upcoming retirement.
