Microsoft Copilot Studio – Announcing the migration of the o3 model to GPT-5 reasoning [MC1183226]

We are announcing that the o3 model used in Copilot Studio Prompt tools will soon be migrated to a GPT-5 reasoning model. This migration is scheduled to occur throughout the month of November, reaching full general availability by November 31, 2025. Specific details of the migration schedule will be available at the following location as it becomes available: Feature availability by region

How does this affect me?
No changes are required from Prompt makers. All prompts currently running on the o3 model will automatically switch to the GPT-5 reasoning model once the migration occurs.

Be aware that the GPT-5 reasoning model may produce different results compared to the o3 model which could impact your existing Prompts. Once the migration occurs, we recommend testing your Prompts that previously used the o3 model and updating the Prompt instructions as necessary.
