This message applies to Web chat and Work chat for users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license and to Copilot Chat for users with a Microsoft 365 license.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 482410.

[When this will happen:]

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in late May 2025 and expect to complete by early June 2025.

[How this will affect your organization:]

Users must first add agents to Microsoft 365 Copilot for them to be available in the Edge sidebar when using Copilot. (Learn more about adding agents: Introducing agents – Microsoft Support). Users will not be able to create, search for, or add new agents when using Copilot from the Edge sidebar at this time.

Users will be able to access their previously added agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot from the Edge sidebar while using Copilot. This rollout will help users focus on their main browser activities and access agents without switching to another screen.

This feature will be available by default.

Select Agents from the three-dot menu (…) in the top right of the Edge sidebar:

The recent update introducing access to Microsoft 365 Copilot agents from the Edge sidebar is set to create quite a ripple effect for both admins and users. For users, this means a smoother workflow as they can engage with their Copilot agents without the hassle of switching screens. Imagine having a helpful assistant right at your fingertips while you navigate through tasks—it’s like having your cake and eating it too!

Admins, on the other hand, get to enjoy the simplicity of a rollout that requires no action on their part. This feature will be available by default, which means less time spent on configurations and more time focusing on strategic initiatives. However, it’s always a good idea to keep your users informed about the changes, so a quick heads-up could go a long way in ensuring everyone is on the same page.

As for the impact of these changes, it’s likely to enhance productivity and collaboration across the board. Users will appreciate the ability to access their previously added agents seamlessly, which could lead to more efficient task completion.
