Microsoft Copilot Studio – Enhancement of Copilot Studio predefined entities [MC1182096]

Message ID: MC1182096
We are announcing the ability to capture user-entered phrases and flexibly handle date information, allowing for more control and precision when building solutions in Microsoft Copilot Studio. This feature will reach general availability on December 1, 2025.

How does this affect me?
For makers, a new field will be added for variables tied to entities, which will expose the exact text on what was extracted as the literal entity within the utterance. In addition, for agents, there will be the following datetime enhancements:
  • Support for Partial Dates: Makers can now specify if a DateTime can be partial.
    • If the Date can be partial, the makers can also specify the exact parts of the Date that are required and the ones that are optional with various combinations of Day, Month and Year.
  • Specify past or future Dates: Makers can now specify if the Dates should be defaulted to be in the future or past or let the system disambiguate it as it does currently.
What action do I need to take?
This message is for awareness, and no action is required.
