We are announcing the use generative actions feature in Microsoft Copilot Studio. This feature will allow you to replace the traditional natural language-based approach for topic triggering (using the trigger phrases you’ve defined in each topic). Instead, your copilot uses GPT to select one or more topics or actions to respond to a user’s query.
How does this affect me?
When enabled, generative actions orchestrates the conversations users have with your copilot, which can help provide users with a more natural and fluid conversation. All topics and actions have associated descriptions, which are the primary pieces of information utilized by your copilot when using GPT to select topics or actions to respond to the user’s query.
What do I need to do to prepare?
This message is for awareness and no action is required.

Wow, the introduction of generative actions in Microsoft Copilot Studio sounds like a game changer! Imagine not having to rely solely on those trigger phrases that sometimes feel as rigid as a robot doing the cha-cha! With GPT stepping in, conversations can flow more naturally, making interactions smoother for both admins and users alike.
For admins, this means less time wrangling with specific phrases and more time focusing on creating engaging content and experiences. And users? Well, they get to enjoy a chatty Copilot that feels more like a friendly conversation rather than a robotic Q&A session. It’s like upgrading from a flip phone to the latest smartphone—suddenly, everything is just… easier!
As for the impact, I’d say it’s going to be pretty significant. We’re talking about a shift towards more intuitive and responsive interactions. This could lead to happier users, which is always a win-win!
So, what do you all think? Are you excited about these changes? Or do you have any concerns? Let’s chat in the comments!
